Fellow Passengers
Liberty of the Seas is the second of the Freedom-class vessels. A third ship, Independence of the Seas, was delivered in April 2008. In 2009, the first in a new Oasis class of ships measuring 220,000 gross tons displaced the Freedom class as the world's largest passenger ships. The ship's riff on Broadway-approved "Wizard of Oz" — 16-piece live orchestra and flying bed included — delighted me, a hater of most musicals. All Oceanview cabins have a Picture Window (round-shaped window, size is 24-inch / 61 cm).
An Ice Spectacular is performed onboard the ship, and features incredibly talented skaters. Many of the performers are former Olympic and professional skaters. Liberty of the Seas is best known for offering a wide variety of activities onboard. Cafe Promenade serves lattes, espresso, macchiatos and more every day. These premium coffees are included with a Deluxe Beverage Package or a Royal Refreshment package.
Enchantment is much smaller at 2,700 passengers and offers great food and fewer extra-fee venues. The inaugural cruise (maiden voyage) was a 7-day Caribbean itinerary starting on May 19. Liberty OTS had some special pre-inaugural cruises before the liner arrived in Miami. The first was the Transatlantic crossing (Southampton to NYC New), the second - repositioning from NYC to Miami (visiting several US East Coast ports). Liberty OTS is fleet's 2nd Freedom-Class liner, with sisterships Freedom and Independence.

Two additional bathrooms with showers and a spacious living area with a sofa bed and dining table. Private balcony with dining area, lounge chairs and whirlpool. Two additional bedrooms, each with two Pullman beds and two twin beds that convert to a Royal King size bed. Two twin beds that convert to a Royal King size bed and private bathroom. Liberty of the Seas is a Royal Caribbean International Freedom-class cruise ship which entered regular service in May 2007. It was initially announced that she would be called Endeavour of the Seas, however this name was later changed.[4] The 15-deck ship accommodates 3,634 passengers served by 1,360 crew.
Atrium Promenade staterooms (category PR-Promenade View) are a unique type of inside cabins with bowed windows overlooking the Atrium's Royal Promenade. The room's bowed window gives more interior space and is also a great vantage point to watch the Royal Promenade's "street" activities - including the parade each evening. Remember to keep the curtains closed at night as there are Promenade cabins across the street too. Another way to gauge the cost of a cruise is to consider how much you'll spend on board. Even though a lot is included in the base cruise fare, you may still spend money on things like spa treatments, specialty dining, drinks, and excursions. In addition, guests can also have to pay for things like gratuities and tips.
Liberty was built in 2007 by Aker Finnyards Shipyard (Turku, Finland). This shipyard was later acquired by STX Europe (a subsidiary of the South Korean multinational STX Corporation). She was elected from about 2500 female travel agents, who had shown fondness of social causes.
Royal Caribbean’s Liberty of the Seas may be surpassed in terms of size and passenger capacity, but that hardly makes this a small ship. Liberty of the Seas' population is fairly evenly divided between young families and older empty nesters, which generally makes for a relaxed group of people that mixes well together. The ship's spaces and slate of entertainment reflects that generational divide, too. Liberty sails from Galveston, Texas, which means it tends to draw a large proportion of Americans, and specifically Texans, so prepare to hear a few "y'alls" sprinkled into the conversation. Despite launching in 2007, Royal Caribbean Liberty of the Seas feels new and contemporary throughout most of the public areas (though the rooms are a bit worn). Cruisers on Liberty can dine in style in a rich mahogany three-story dining room, each level named in honor of an Italian Renaissance painter, with sparkling chandeliers and romantic sunset views.
You would have a much better bet choosing a resort with a huge pool complex. That being said, a quick dip in the pool can be nice on a hot day. Alcohol is not included in the base price of this cruise ship.
But if you're a jazz fan or looking for a peaceful nightcap, none of these options will top the live music at Lou's Jazz 'n Blues. While I would've preferred a quieter atmosphere (the DJ did not, in fact, play smooth jazz), the pool's views, day beds, and lack of screaming children were hard to beat. On the entertainment side of things, Carnival Liberty features two of our best, live on stage.
Watering holes aboard Royal Caribbean’s Liberty of the Seas are plentiful, that’s for sure. Night or day, you’ll find bars and lounges serving up beers, wines and your favorite cocktails. No matter what kind of bar scene you normally enjoy (loud and raucous, relaxing and quiet), you’ll find it aboard this cruise ship.
